Provisioning in the Grenadines: What to Buy Where
Grenadines Provisioning Guide
Provisioning in the Grenadines is excellent if you know where to source what. This guide is organised the way captains actually plan: by island and by product category.
St Vincent
Kingstown is the best place to bulk-load fresh produce, household stores and SVG-grown items. Imported French, Italian and US groceries arrive weekly through Kingstown port; with 48 hours notice we can pre-pick anything not regularly stocked. Premium beef and fine wines are best ordered ahead through a specialist provisioner.
Bequia
Best for last-minute top-ups, day-boat tuna and wahoo, baguettes and pastries, and a surprisingly good wine selection. Doris Provisions and Knights Trading cover most needs. Ice and dock delivery are easy in Admiralty Bay.
Mustique
The island grocer carries premium imports — expect Mustique prices. For owner trips we recommend pre-loading in St Vincent and using Mustique for fresh bread, eggs and emergency items.
Canouan
Canouan no longer supports direct superyacht provisioning. Send us your list and we source items from St Vincent, Bequia or Union and have them shipped to you in Canouan. We hold storage in the northern Grenadines so produce can be consolidated and moved to your berth.
Union Island
Clifton has only one or two very small shops. Use Union for planned restocks or emergency items, but the bulk of provisioning should be arranged through St Vincent or Bequia.
Storage and logistics
We hold stock in the northern Grenadines and move goods daily by ferry, tender and road between St Vincent, Bequia, Canouan and Union. This means Canouan and Union are serviced from our main stores rather than sourced locally.
Lead times to plan around
- Florists: 2 weeks in season
- Imported provisioning permits: 7 days recommended
- Fresh produce and bakery: 24–48 hours
- Ice, last-minute items: same day
Send us a shopping list and itinerary and we will price, source and deliver to the dock.
