What every clearance requires

  • Vessel registration certificate
  • Last port of call clearance
  • Crew list (with passport numbers, expiry dates, nationalities)
  • Guest list (with passport numbers and arrival/departure dates)
  • Stores list (alcohol, tobacco, fuel)
  • Health declaration if applicable
  • Original passports

Charter operations also need the charter agreement and passenger manifest.

SailClear — file before you arrive

SVG accepts SailClear pre-clearance filings. Submit at least 24 hours before arrival; the Customs and Immigration officers at the port have your details on screen when you walk into the office, which cuts the in-person time from an hour to 15 minutes.

Working hours and overtime

Customs and Immigration in SVG keep standard office hours (8am–4pm Mon–Fri, reduced Sat). Outside those hours — including all of Sunday — an overtime fee applies. An agent can pre-book the overtime appointment so the officer is at the desk when you arrive.

What a licenced agent does

  • Filings done before you arrive (SailClear, Port Authority, Customs)
  • Customs / Immigration desk appointment (no queuing)
  • Berth or mooring number waiting on arrival
  • After-hours / Sunday clearance pre-arranged
  • Duty-free fuel paperwork submitted
  • An agent on standby for your entire stay

For vessels over 24m, charter operations, or any after-hours clearance, the agent saves more than they cost.

Departure (out-clearance)

  • Final crew & guest count (note all sign-offs/ons)
  • All charter passengers signed off before clearance out if not leaving with the vessel
  • Garbage and port fees settled
  • Next port and departure timing confirmed
  • Passports and clearance documents ashore

Common reasons clearance gets delayed

  • Crew member's seamen's book entry missing
  • Guest passport with less than 6 months validity
  • Charter agreement not in the agent's hands 24 hours ahead
  • Tobago Cays park fees not pre-paid for the night you arrived
  • Arriving at a location that is not a port of entry — ask us first if you plan to clear anywhere other than the ports listed above
